The eight WWE wrestlers have been selected from Australia and will be seen in an action sequence. During the shooting, all the eight muscle men gelled well with Akshay. Upon hearing that the Hindi version of 'Kuselan' will be reaching the theaters much before his film will get exposed, SRK panicked as if this happens the box office prospect of 'Billoo Barber' will get severely damaged due to having the same theme and story. Adding more intensity to his tension was that in both the films, the lead actors appear in 20 different looks in a single song. It was indeed, a day to remember. A day that will go down as a landmark in the Indian motion picture history. The Kodak Theatre, Hollywood, Los Angeles, was the perfect setting for the Italian stallion, Sylvester Stallone, to be welcomed to Bollywood. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had achieved this breakthrough by creating for the Rocky & Rambo legend a character that would instantly inspire him to accept this role in his KAMBAKKHT ISHQ directed by Sabir Khan. And there could not have been a better beginning than the breath-taking backdrop of the Academy Awards venue, in Los Angeles, where the shooting of the film was underway. Being the perfect professional, Stallone arrived bang at dot 9 AM. Giving him perfect company was the ever-punctual Indian Superstar Akshay Kumar. The two action superstars hit it off on the sets, the moment they met. It was as if they had known each other, since a long time. Stallone was visibly impressed by Akshay's physique and fitness routine, all about which he enthusiastically enquired and wanted to know more about. Also joining in on the day of the Stallone shoot, was Holly Vance the sensuous and pretty actress from Entourage. The next day the venue shifted to Paramount Studios where Stallone participated in a Rambo-like action sequence with heroine Kareena Kapoor, coordinated by the Hollywood action-director SPIRO RAZATOS who has major movies like Vantage Point, Bad Boys 2 & Grams 21, etc to his credit. With an ensemble international cast featuring in this Bollywood extravaganza KAMBAKKHT ISHQ, producer Sajid Nadiadwala was both energized and emotional about this experience. He said, "Its indeed a highpoint of my career to be working with an icon like Sylvester Stallone .We have all grown up on Rocky & Rambo. And today I feel blessed at having the opportunity of working with him right here in Hollywood." How did it happen? Sajid Nadiadwala says, "The happiest happenings are always unplanned. Since KAMBAKKHT ISHQ has a Hollywood backdrop and the hero plays a body double, luckily for us, our search for the perfect Hollywood hero started and ended with Stallone." Would there be more such Hollywood endeavors in the pipeline in the future? Adds Sajid, "I guess one door opens the doors to many others. This has been an enriched experience for all of us. And I am sure this is just the beginning of our company's association with Stallone."
Abhishek Bachchan is Sonam Kapoor's second co-star and the newcomer, who is enjoying his company on the sets of Dilli 6, says they make a good pair. "Abhishek and I are very well-matched, height-wise. Though he is very mischievous, I find him very mature," said Sonam. Sonam debuted with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. "While Ranbir is someone I've grown up with, Abhishek is someone I can look up to as a co-star. He's really cool. In fact, I'm learning so much from all my co-stars in Dilli 6. "Abhishek and I, and our director Rakeysh (Omprakash) Mehra are so much in awe of Waheeda Rehmanji. During rehearsals every time she reads a scene there's pin drop silence for a few minutes. We're all busy staring at her," she added. The legendary Waheeda Rehman feels Sonam resembles her. "When people, including Waheedaji herself, said I look like her, I feel I'll just faint with pride." The actress has one regret. "I lost my grandfather. I was very close to him. And my one regret is I couldn't meet him before he passed away. The last I saw him was about a fortnight before his death. My Nanaji was loads of fun." Sonam has said no to a very big project with one of the industry's biggest stars for a top-notch banner. "The role was extremely sensuous. That's fine. But it also required a lot of nudity and there was one major lovemaking scene. It was a smashing opportunity for me to go beyond what I've done in Saawariya and my second film Dilli 6. But I can't do anything that I'm not comfortable with." So far both of Sonam's directors have been extremely protective of her. "Sanjay sir would cover me up even when I walked from the set to my van. And now Rakeysh is worse! He wants to see me in nothing but salwar-kameez in Dilli 6." For a sequence Sonam had to get into chic attire. "When I came on the set, Rakeysh looked at me, and said I should quickly revert to my salwar-kameez look. Because of my dad everyone treats me like a child. I can't be doing any role that would make my father, mother and the rest of my family cringe at the premiere. Call me a prude, but that's that way I am. "My father has a 40-year reputation in the industry. And I'm not going to tarnish it."

Disney will release the DVD with English sub-titles. The movie was jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and PVR Pictures. "The film has had a successful theatrical run in the US. Besides Aamir and Darsheel, it also stars Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma. In India, Taare Zameen Par DVD will be brought out by T-Series.

Kamal, one of the better directors in Malayalam who had the guts to make films with newcomers and ordinary stars is peeved. His Minnaminikootam with upcoming stars like Narain, Jayasurya, Indrajith, Meera Jasmine, Roma has bombed miserably at the box-office. Minnaminikootam was released on July 11, and there was a lot of hype and hope riding on it. The industry people were really praying that the film turns out to be a hit. Everybody was on the lookout for an alternative to Mammootty and Mohanlal. The feeling within is that unless there is an alternative to the superstars, Malayalam film industry will die. So Kamal's film was supposed to throw up alternative stars, but our audiences as usual rejected the film. Now Kamal held a press conference in Kochi on Friday and said that "certain vested interests" were out to make his film a commercial flop. Kamal pointed out that in the Ernakulam theatre where his film is running, people in large numbers come and start hooting when the titles appear! This "hoot brigade" continues to hoot throughout the film as though they were paid money by certain people to run down the film! The needle of suspicion of those behind the "hoot brigade", according to industry veterans is the superstar's fan clubs. Kamal in his press conference hinted that these fans associations were targeting his films. He also said they were the bane of the industry and has damaged the edifice of Malayalam cinema. Hats off to Kamal for speaking the truth.

He as usual went to the star hotel and asked for the suite room which is called as the Federer suite as an honour for his talent and sporting achievements. And guess what reply this world celebrated player got from the hotel staff. They requested him opt for some other suite as the opulent space named after him had been given to a celebrity couple from India. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwrya Rai were staying in Federer suite. They had come to Toronto for the first show of the 'Unforgettable World Tour. The hotel authorities were not very keen on giving the suite to Abhi and Ash as it was reserved exclusively for Roger Federer and till date he has only stayed there whenever he came to Toronto. Age has not dampened the spirit of evergreen Bollywood star Dev Anand. The 84-year-old thespian is now busy with his new film Chargesheet, a murder mystery that will star Jackie Shroff and a host of newcomers. Actor-director-producer Dev Anand, who introduced stars like Zeenat Aman, Tina Munim and Tabu, among others, said: "I always stood for newcomers. I think there is immense talent in our country that needs to be tapped. We, as responsible filmmakers, should always provide them the opportunity to prove their mettle." "The story is set in Panchgani where the major portion of the film will be shot," said Anand, who is directing and producing the film. While Anand will play a retired CBI officer, Jackie will portray an actor in the film. Sameer Kochhar, who has acted in films like Zeher and Jannat, will play a corrupt police officer. Anand said Chargesheet will be one of his best projects till date and people will see him at his best as an actor and director. "I have been working on the script for quite a long time and it has shaped up really well. I hope it will strike the chord with the masses. "My last few films did not do well as I was not aware of the marketing technique which is prevalent today, but I will not take any chance with this project as it is very dear to me," Anand said. Anand said he plans to start shooting next month in Mumbai, where he will be filming some of the interior scenes. "The major portion of the shoot will be in Panchgani, which I will start as soon as the monsoon ends," he added. The film is expected to be complete by January 2009. Talking about Jackie, Anand said: "Jackie is very dear to me from the days when we worked together in Swami Dada. He has a very interesting role to play in the film, which I will not divulge now. Chargesheet will be the 37th movie of Anand's production company Navketan Films that has given countless blockbuster hits like Baazi, Kala Bazar, Guide, Jewel Thief, Prem Pujari, Hare Rama Hare Krishna and Heera Panna, among others. Dev Anand had created a rage among the masses for three long decades from the 1950s to the 1970s with hits like Jaal, Taxi Driver, Munimji, CID Bambai Ka Babu, Hum Dono, Asli Naqli, Johny Mera Naam, Gambler, Heera Panna and Warrant, among others.
Amitabh Bachchan may have lost his clothes on a British Airways flight from London to Toronto, but he kept his shirt on at a press conference to kick off the Unforgettable Tour. Amid peals of laughter, Big B said his loss of luggage had become big news in India. "As we talk, I am happy to know that just because I have lost all my baggage on British Airways, it is national news in India," he said on Thursday. "I mentioned it in my blog and they have all means of communication—mobile phones and SMSes. Just before coming here we got delayed because I had to answer about 15 questions on what was the nature of my baggage and whether I was going to sue British Airways. I was told that I should really come on the phone. "We will welcome your spirit, your enthusiasm and your interest in us and in our baggage," Bachchan said amid another round of laughter. And the 66-year-old Bachchan family patriarch said the Unforgettable Tour could not be his last show abroad. He couldn't wait to shake his leg tomorrow, he added. The biggest-ever live Bollywood show will take the Bachchan family—Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya—and their co-stars across the globe. This will be the first time that the whole family will perform in a live show. A brainchild of Abhishek, the tour has been in the works for more than a year. Each show is likely to cost $1 million. Apart from the first family of Bollywood, Preity Zinta, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Shilpa Shetty, Vishal Sekhar, Ritieish Deshmukh and choreographer Shiamak Davar, it features 130 other performers. Both Abhishek and Aishwarya, who announced their engagement at the premiere of their hit film Guru last year, said they were excited to be back in their dream city. Asked who he gave credit to for his marriage to Aishwarya, Abhishek smiled at her and said: "To her because she said yes. She tolerates me so much and it has just been a year and I hope it goes a lot longer." And for his success? "The credit for my success goes to my parents and to the audiences for tolerating me for so many years." When someone asked whether the global show was a stepping stone for her for an international career, Aishwarya said: "That's not the way I have looked at the shows. This is not the first time we have come. Shows have been part of my career for a while now. We thoroughly enjoy and so does the audiences. It is all about that. No show is ever looked upon as a stepping-stone to another area or advancement of career. It's just about doing what you believe in." The former Miss Universe said musical shows like Unforgettable were an extension of Indian cinema, which has been embraced by international audiences. Preity chipped in, saying that Indian cinema has truly gone global now. Unlike the past, when only people of Indian origin watched Indian films, now people from all ethnic backgrounds came to watch them. "Earlier, we took small steps. Now we are taking big leaps." As the show travels around the globe to spread Bollywood far and wide, the audiences will be treated to scores of foot-tapping songs from different ages of Indian films. Twenty tonnes of cargo, including specially designed stage backdrops, props and instruments, will travel with Bachchan and his crew, as will more than 1,000 costumes studded with Swarovski crystals and sequins. Further, the Unforgettable Tour will promote not only Bollywood but also awareness about global warming, as it has tied up with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
Mohanlal may have another release before his Onam flick 'Kargil'. Mohanlal's, K P Kumaran directed off-beat flick 'Akashagopuram', which was earlier planned to release for last Easter, will now grace the theatres on this 22nd of August. The movie based on famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Johan Ibsen's classic "Master Builder", has Lal playing a milestone character. He will be in the role of Albert Samson, an English architect in the film. One of the major highlights of the film is the music of John Altman, an Emmy award winning British composer music arranger, orchestrator and conductor. The entire film which has been shot in England has Manu Kumaran, son of K.P Kumaran, as its executive producer.
Kamal's latest 'Minnaminnikkoottam' featuring a lot of artists from the youth brigade, picked up after a lame start. This weekend was one of the best for the movie, better than the first weekend with houseful shows in all major cities. The movie has now got its share of family viewers who has steadied the collections in all cities. And if this trend goes on for another couple of weeks, the movie may well end up as a safe earner. With no big releases for another couple of weeks, the chances are high for 'Minniminnikoottam' for a safe landing. Meanwhile the director of the movie, Kamal has unleashed heavy criticism on the fan following of the superstars who are alleged to engage in booing of small films, all through the screening. He hinted that there seems to be some hidden agenda behind this planned pandemonium, deliberately created in the theatres. He also noted that this 'hoot brigade' is going to cause unpardonable destruction to Malayalam cinema.
The magnum opus form Harihararan - M T Vasudevan Nair - Mammmootty team 'Pazhasi Raja' will restart its final schedule of production by the last week of August. Mammootty will join the movie after completing his latest 'Maya Bazaar' by Thomas Sebastian. 'Pazhassi Raja', One of the biggest budjeted movies of Mollywood, still need another 25 days of shooting, before getting completed. Majority of the final portions of the movie including the climax will be shot at Kerala and the dense forests of Karnataka.

'Pallikoodam' and 'Anjthey's' success has done Narain a world of good. He has been getting numerous offers in Kollywood. However a cautious Narain is in no hurry to be on a signing spree.
He has agreed to do an untitled film in Tamil apart from a Malayalam venture. However in a bid to cash in on his popularity in Tamil cinema, a couple of Malayalam films featuring Naren in lead role has been dubbed in Tamil and released recently in the form of 'Pagai' and 'Pandhaya Kozhi'.
Having established a name for himself in B and C centers with Anjathae, Naren's dubbed movies have been released in these centers and decent turnouts are being witnessed.
Sheela, the child- artist- turned- heroine, who did a handful of movies in Tamil and Telugu, has now got calls from Mollywood. The actress who was appreciated for her performances in ‘Veda’, ‘Kanna’, ‘Ilavattom’and ‘Cheena Thaana’ in Tamil is foraying into Malayalam with Mammootty's 'Maya Bazaar'.She had been in Tamil and Telugu in a couple of remake from other language originals, ‘Maya Bazaar’ will also feature another heroine in Tisca Chopra, the actress who invited limelight with her performance in 'Taare Zameen Par'. The movie which already has started it shoot at Pollachi, tells a very different story in the backdrop of a black market specialized in automobile spares and vehicles sent to craps. The movie directed by Thomas Sebastian, an assistant to Sibi Malayail, will grace the theatres this October.
Suresh Gopi's new movie 'Aayudham' will grace the theatres on the eight of next month. The movie directed by M A Nishad tells the story of an investigative officer, a close aide of the chief minister of the state, who is entrusted to clear off some mysteries surrounding a grave murder. ‘Aayudham’ will have Thilakan in a prominent role, after a long time. The movie will be brought to theatres by Times ads release, who recently distributed the blockbuster 'Dasavatharam'. M A Nishad, a politician turned movie director, has to credit films like 'Pakal’ and ‘Nagaram' which were all noted for their close watch on social issues.
When the film 'Kismat Konnection' was announced, the two reasons why it grabbed the headlines and got good attention of the media was because its director Aziz Mirza was making a movie after a long break and given his liking for making light hearted feel good movies, every one was waiting for the movie to get released. The presence of Shahid Kapoor appearing as the leading man after the immensely successful 'Jab We Met' also went on to make this movie occupy the top position in the priority list of movie lovers as a must watch film. Later on the rumors about a new romance going on between Shahid and Vidya Balan during the shooting in Toronto also spread like wild fire adding up the pre release hype of the film. Among all this hype and hoopla the media failed to notice a new actor who is playing an important role in this film. Amit Varma who is taking his first step in the Tinsel Town with 'Kismat Konnection' is playing one of the love interests of the heroine. The guy was selected by Aziz Mirza's son as he thought Amit will be looking perfect opposite the beautiful Vidya. If the film becomes a block buster it will be a great chance for Amit to get noticed as in the majority of his scenes, he will be sharing the screen space with either Shahid or Vidya. Amit became very nervous when he met Vidya for the first time, but as the days progressed he became more confident of himself with the support and help of Shahid and Vidya. The debutant says that Aziz Mirza's encouragement and the way his co stars helped him with the rehearsals that put him at ease made the acting part very comfortable and simple for him.
If a certain buzz in the B-Town is to be considered, the cute and baby faced girl who became the perfect screen partner for Aamir Khan in the block buster 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin' released in 1991 is going to direct the remake of the film. If the film is to be really made, for Mahesh Bhatt who directed the original film, seeing his daughter Pooja Bhatt calling the shots for the new version will be a unique experience. No further solid reports regarding the progress of this new film has come up in the media so far. And guess who has been considered as the leading man and for whom it will be a great challenge to do justice to a role which is considered as one of the best and most loved one enacted by Aamir Khan.It is none other than the musician/actor Himesh Reshmmiya who has been decided as the leading man.Shagufta Rafique who has the experience of writing films such as 'Woh Lamhe','Awarapan' and 'Dhoka' will be writing the story of this movie. But comparisons between the acting of Aamir and Himesh will be impossible to make as the film will be not be a frame to frame copy of the original one and Himesh will be playing the role of an journalist which is very different from the nature of the role that Aamir did.Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt who were the co-producers along with T-Series for the original film will be producing the new one.
Actor Vijay is playing the lead role in a movie titled 'MGR', directed by Perarasu. Hold your horses and don't jump to conclusions. This is a film within a film.Vijay's dad S. A. Chandrasekhar is directing a film called 'Pandhayam' with Nithin Sathya donning the lead role. Vijay will be playing himself in the film as a guest performer. Since he plays himself, he will be depicted as though he is shooting for a film under the direction of Perarasu. And that film's title is 'MGR'.The scene was shot in Chennai recently. Nithin Sathya, the hero of 'Pandhayam' plays a die-hard Vijay fan in the film and so goes to see Vijay shooting for a movie. Prakash Raj and Sindhu Thulani also are in the cast. Vijay Anthony has scored the music. It may be recalled that Vijay had earlier acted in a guest role in S A Chandrasekhar's 'Sukkran'.Vijay is meanwhile busy with 'Villu', directed by Prabhudeva and the shooting for the film, produced by Ayngaran Internationals is on at a rapid pace.
Mani Ratnam's forthcoming film is to be made bilingually in Tamil and Hindi. It is reported that while Vikram would star in the Tamil version, while Abishek Bachchan will hold the mantle in Hindi. Aishwarya Rai is expected to be the heroine in both versions. An interesting development with this project is that Prithiviraj has been assigned to play a very important role in the film. A role that would be villainous in nature. Though Prithiviraj acts as hero in many films he is no stranger to playing villain. His dashing performance in 'Kana Kandaen' was appreciated by audiences. Playing the villain he literally stole the show in the film with his performance. 'I am excited about working in a Mani Ratnam movie. But I can't say anything about the role yet,' said a happy Prithviraj. Prithviraj is currently working in 'Ninaithale Inikkum' the remake of the Malayalam hit 'Classmates'. It is a two-hero subject played by Prithviraj and Shakti, while national award winner Priya Mani will play the female lead. Debutant Kumar wields the megaphone.
