Bollywood directors are exploring all genres in Bollywood cinema. From Romance to comedy to thriller, Bollywood has it all. Though there is a lot of cut-throat competition, there are some very healthy ones too. One good example is Rakesh Roshan’s upcoming film ‘Krazzy 4’ with Juhi Chawla, Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Suresh Menon in the lead roles. Even from the few stills that are out the film promises to be a roaring comic flick. Being directed by Rakesh Roshan’s assistant, Raja (Jaideep) Sen, the film is being keenly awaited. One main attraction apart from the star cast is an item number that will feature SRK in one part and the Roshan hero Hrithik in the other half. This song will be one of its kind because we very rarely get to see the same song in two different star versions. King Khan had said in an interview that he had actually developed the much-omphed six pack abs for a song in ‘Om Shanthi Om’ but later stuck to it because he liked the look of it and also to prove to his son Aryan that he was not fat!

Certain news hits like a thunder. Sometimes, the thunder never brings showers. The news on Silambarasan - Dhanush combo seems to be one such item. Last week we heard that the two young stars, considered as arch rivals in the industry, would team up for a film titled ‘Agni Natchatram’. Simbu showed the green signal by expressing his willingness to act in such a film. But Dhanush’s side hasn’t responded positively to the proposal. Though Dhanush seems to be ready to accept the offer, his father Kasthuri Raja seems to be the stumbling block for such a project. “It wont work out”, was his refrain to those who contacted him for his opinion on the news. He has not spelled out the reasons clearly. Dhanush, it seems, would not go against his father’s will. So, the sensational news on the combination of two sensational stars might just burst like a bubble?
‘Ilaya Thalapathy’ Vijay has finally decided to venture into producing films on his own. The decision could make wonders in his career, as he has decided to make some experiments in his own films. So far, Vijay hasn’t tried anything different in terms of changing the get ups or donning different roles. The reason for not trying anything different is that he wants to ensure good business to the investors of his films. In other words, he doesn’t want to take risk at others cost. So he has so far stuck to the commercial boundaries. However, after establishing his place as a successful commercial hero, Vijay now wants to try out something different and that too, at his own risk. Vijay's decision is commendable, as taking risk at one’s own cost is not an easy joke. Let us welcome the decision and look forward to see a new Vijay in his own films soon.
Manchu Manoj, who hasn’t had a hit till date, is all excited about his new project. For starters, he had totally gone off the public radar to tone his body. Apparently, he hit the gym with a vengeance and he has shed lots of kilos. Then, the promos of his film 'Nenu Meeku Telusa' have been shown during the interval of his brother Vishnu’s film 'Krishnarjuna'. This promotional activity has really paid off as it has created curiosity among the audience. Now, the film has finally gone on the floors. Ad man-turned-filmmaker Ajay Sastri is making his debut as a director with this film. It will be very different from what we have seen till now in Telugu cinema, promises the director. Now, haven’t we heard that before?
The new venture by T S Suresh Babu ‘Karthika Thirunal Karthikeyan' featuring, Mohanlal in the lead will start its shooting by the sixth of February. Mohanlal will join the movie by the tenth of April. The superstar is presently in the Sathyan Anthikkad film, after which he will complete his portions in AMMA's multistarrer 'Twenty-Twenty'. 'Karthika Thirunal Karthikeyan' will feature three heroines-Parvathy Milton, Padmapriya and Namitha. The film's music department will also be special with four music directors giving music to the lyrics of four famous lyricists. M G Radhakrishanan, Alex Paul, Alphonse and Deepak Dev will set tunes to the lyrics written by O N V, Shibu Chakrabarthy, Sreekumaran Thampy and Chunakkara Ramankutty. In the last couple of years, the happiest happening for filmmakers in Mollywood is the ever increasing amounts that the films fetch as channel rights. The superstar films are able to make around fifty to seventy lakhs as channels rights which come around one-third of their production costs. Mammootty’s bilingual 'Vande Matharam’ is one such film, that fetched around sixty five lakhs by selling the rights, even as the film is under making. The recent hot property among Malayalam channels is Mammootty's 'Parunthu' which will start its shoot only by the next month. The hype in channel rights market is due to the recent news about Nayantara agreeing to be the heroine of this film. If the makers of this film stick to their present plans, the super actress of South Indian cinema who is at the helm of her career after the super success of her film 'Billa', could be presented in Malayalam, after a gap of three years.
Pritviraj has made his intentions clear that he will stick to Malayalam for the next six months, even though he has plenty of offers in Tamil. It is far more lucrative for him to do Tamil films where he can get a salary of Rs 60 to Rs 80 lakhs range, but the guy is determined to make it big in Malluwood. Prithvi's Christmas release Kangaroo is a safe bet for its distributors Lal creations. For the first time, theatres in Kerala are willing to offer advance for his films to the distributors, a clear indication that he is saleable. The actor knows that his time to reach superstardom is fast approaching, and it’s better to remain in Malayalam rather than Tamil. He is starting a new film with veteran director Joshy titled Robinhood, where he will play a high-tech thief who robs from ATM’s! The film is being made by his lucky producers Santha Murali and P.K Murali who gave the super hit Classmates and Chocolate with him. And the script is by his Chocolate writers Sachi and Sethu. The actor is said to be terrific in Madhupal’s Thalapavu (see pic) as a Naxalite leader, based on the true story of Naxal Vargheese and constable Ramachandran. The film is likely to release in March. Meanwhile Pritviraj has also signed up a new film One way ticket with a new director Vipin Prabhakar, based on a script of veteran Babu Janardanan. The shooting of the film is likely to start in Ottapalam in the first week of March. And the buzz is that Pritvi is going to reunite with his Chocolate director Shafi for a big Onam film.
